Google Business Model (mobile handset development)
Every model manufacture has following three basic phases
1. SW development
2. Functionality SW development (Driver, Protocol, etc)
3. HW Design
In technical terms Upper Layer SW is of Google (Android SW development platform). For other Google is dependant on Qualcomm & HTC (n case of Nexus One). Dependency on other companies is considerable factor.

In case of other competitor companies (Nokia, Samsung, LG etc) they have all phase facilities. And Android SW development platform is open for all to use. According to news Samsung & LG is launching numerous model on Android platform (similar to Nexus One and other also) in 2010 (from mid range to smart phone).

Marketing point of view Samsung, Nokia, LG & other have their own established sales channels.

Google has following three challenges
1. To be establish in market as entry player
2. Competition with existing major players
3. Better quality product on competitive price

P.S.:
1. Touch screen candy phone are available in market at price tag start ~7K INR
2. I am not including Chinese phones in my discussion
